A class is a profession or vocation for a character. It determines what he or she is able to do: combat training, magical ability, skills, and more. Selection of a class for a character is typically based on the core concept for the character. The eleven basic selections can approximate almost any character concept, and often several options are available. For example, both paladins and clerics are excellent at hunting down undead monsters.
There are the eleven base classes also called core classes from which all characters must choose to start their adventuring careers. These classes are barbarianbardclericdruidfightermonkpaladinrangerroguesorcererand wizard. Each class has a range of abilities that make it substantially different from the other classes.
These abilities are an integral part of a character's class, and mastering them will aid the player. Some classes have alignment restrictions. For example, a paladin must be of lawful good alignment. If the character's actions shift this alignment, then the character can no longer gain paladin levels. Similarly, a neutral good character cannot gain paladin class levels, since the character is not of the required alignment. Shadows of Undrentide added a new option for character development called prestige classes.
Prestige classes are like regular classes, except that they have requirements that must be met before one can attain the class. These powerful classes grant characters unique new abilities unavailable to the base classes.
Some classes may require a certain number of ranksothers may require the ability to cast arcane or divine spellscertain alignmentsfeatsor races. A prestige class cannot be chosen for a starting character, it must be earned through careful advancement; be aware of the prerequisites before planning which prestige class to take.
Shadows of Undrentide introduced five prestige classes, specifically arcane archerassassinblackguardharper scoutand shadowdancer. Hordes of the Underdark introduced an additional six prestige classes, specifically champion of Tormdwarven defenderpale masterred dragon discipleshifterand weapon master. With patch 1. With the release of Hordes of the Underdarka character can achieve epic class levels.
Core classes become epic at class level 21, while prestige classes become epic at class level Epic class levels cannot be obtained until character level An epic class receives additional class-specific benefits as described in each class' description when the character levels up. Player characters begin with one base class but, as the character gains experience pointsthe player may choose to take a second or third class, which may be either base or prestige.
Characters may have a maximum of three classes. Characters are expected to keep their base classes as close to the same level as possible, or be subject to a multiclass penalty to earned experience points. However, an exception to this rule is made for favored classes and prestige classes. According to BioWarethe three class limit is mostly to keep the graphical interface clean, easy to understand, and easy to use.
With the Player Resource Consortium PRC custom contentadditional PC classes are included, for example anti-paladinarcherbrawlereldritch knight and Harper mage. Sign In Don't have an account? Start a Wiki. Do you like this video?

Since there is so much content which is being used, i am making this a partial download and partial how to do it your self. You will have to do this each and every update. If you want to use this, download this file to your override folder. Then go and find your classes. Copy this file from the zip, to your override folder in your player game folder. Now open it up in a text editor, a 2da editor, and look for the column called SkillsTable.
Each row is a fighter. It messes up the bard class by making "perform" skill inaccessible, same as the other classes. You need to delete the bard-specific 2da. Skip to main content. Search form Search this site.

A few people have been asking for this for a while, sorry for the delay. Have fixed a bunch of linking issues with xbox mode. Unfortunately it means all older urls and any created in the last 24 hours are broken, sorry about that. Included updates are the Oathbound Paladin class, higher level cap as well as the new powers and feats. Both versions now have their own unique links, and there is a new 'Xbox mode' button to switch between them. I've updated the images for all the powers and feats as well which was a huge pain in the arse.
There are now two separate spreadsheets for the skills, though the xbox version is just a copy of the PC one for now. There is still some missing information for the Paladin as well. Links are in the footer to both. As always a big thankyou to everyone who helps to keep the data up to date. Data for the latest updates should be there now, including the cleric changes, scourge warlock paragon and trickster rogue changes. Images are not correct for a lot of skills, I'll update those when I get a chance as its a long winded process to extract them from the game files.

Wednesday 22nd April Have fixed a bunch of linking issues with xbox mode. Tuesday 21st April Module 6 update is here! Please note that urls from previous versions will no longer work correctly! There is always some confusion when you first create a character for a complex role-playing system, as there seems to be too many rules to keep track of and options to keep in mind. Now let's start with a bit of history; Dungeons and Dragons has been around for many years in various incarnations. The title '3rd Edition' comes from the fact that several versions of the rules system for this famous game have existed before the current version.
Each edition was quite different from the one before it. That difference is most apparent in the latest version- it is a large departure from the previous versions.
As a new player you do not need any experience with the previous versions of the Dungeon and Dragons rules systems; in fact, it may be helpful to understanding the new rules if you do have preconceived notions. All the rules needed to play Dungeon and Dragons are contained within a group of books the 'core' rule books called the Players Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual.
The computer game Neverwinter Nights uses these rules. I have taken the basic information from the NWN manual and added some additional thoughts on things to look out for each character class and things to keep in mind for a new player.
Thinking of a character can be an easy or difficult process- to start with I always think of a character I would enjoy reading about in a fantasy book, seeing in a fantasy movie, or is featured in something I have written or role-played in a live setting. While creating a stereotyped fearless knight or a sly rogue and so on always has appeal, I encourage NWN players and Dungeon Masters DMs to create totally original characters that shatter the typical way each character class is presented.
This is the mark of originality if you can create a completely new character using the standard rules. Those are the characters that stick out and become legends.
Abilities - We need to cover one thing before you begin exploring the races to choose from: basic Abilities.Neverwinter Nights Shifter Druid Monk Build
These are the basic components of your characters that alter how you interact with the NWN world: Strength Str : Indicates how developed your muscles are for physical tasks such as lifting or pushing. The stronger you the better you are at melee. Dexterity Dex : How nimble, quick and graceful you are. The more Dex you have the better you can avoid damage from enemies or traps. Constitution Con : How hardy you are. Different from Str in that Con refers more to endurance, stamina and general health.
The more Con you have the more damage you can weather and less likely you will be to contract disease or succumb to poison. Intelligence Int : Your ability to reason, to learn and comprehend your surroundings. The more Int you have the better skills you will possess. Wisdom Wis : Your perception, strength of will, and intuition.Description : Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the wilderness. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighterbut they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting.
Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy - a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods.
His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions.

The epic ranger moves through the natural world with deadly grace and a keen mind. The epic ranger is both a protector and a hunter, and his powers reflect this.

It originates from an origin source and defines what roles in combat will the character play.
It also specifies the skills of the Player Character. Classes rely on various power sources: Arcane magicDivine power from a deityMartial one's own physical prowess or Primal power from nature spirits. Every class has a defined primary role, and some have a secondary role: depending on classa player character may have one of the four roles as its Primary role - though it will not stop the Player Character to chose a secondary or tertiary role.

If enemies they target try to attack another member of the party the defender will attack to stun, damage or taunt enemies to protect their companions. Leader Leaders are healers, buffers and debuffers. Their powers support the party's success either by healing damage taken, preventing damage from being taken or increasing the damage enemies take. Controller Controllers influence fights by controlling either the field of battle or targets directly.
Their role is to ensure threats are minimized or handled efficiently.
Striker Strikers specialize in mobility and damage output. These combatants focus on disposing threats as quickly as possible by doing as much damage as they can, as quickly as they can, without enemies retaliating.
