It uses very little system resources, is quite responsive, and provides some really useful note-taking and organization functionality.

If you happen to do a lot of research on-line, it always helps to have some easy way of taking notes on the information that you want to remember and keep handy for referencing later. KeepNote will help you do that, but it can also do so much more. It has an easy filing system, which helps you keep your research and notes organized, as well as a very effective indexing and search feature.

You can organize your notes any way you wish, with as many folders, pages, nested sub-folder and child pages as you wish. The Editor supports some rich text formatting, like using different fonts, bold and italics text, justification, bullet lists, different font colours and background shading, and hyper links. You can also add in-line images and links to external files. So, if you wish to reference some information that you found on the Q4OS help page for exampleby pasting it as a quote, KeepNote will add a hyperlink back to the original article.

I thought that was kind of cool! This will make it very easy for you to find particular notes when you need them. KeepNote will then display all of the pages with that word in the Listview, which I can then peruse at my leisure.

You can do this with any sort of file on your computer, like word docs, spreadsheets, or what-ever. KeepNote also supports tabs; that is, you can create separate tabs that display different pages and then easily switch between them. This makes it very easy for you to access your KeepNote information when you have built a particularly large notebook, with lots of folders and pages.

Is the Year the Internet Finally Died? When you pull out one of your spiral-bound notebooks, do they all come out at once?

And not in a good way, but snared by the dangling ends of their spiral bindings? You can insert or attach images, spreadsheets, and other files, too. KeepNote offers a lot of flexibility, but it leaves out bells and whistles like contact managers, task schedulers, and other distractions from the job at hand.

Its main job is to replace that stack of notebooks you're lugging around. KeepNote's no-nonsense Explorer-style user interface is built around an easy-to-navigate hierarchical folder structure displayed on the left side. The main window is split horizontally between a file list view and a blank entry field.

We jumped right in by creating and renaming new folders, pages, and child pages from the program's menus as well as the toolbar. KeepNote saves files automatically. Right-clicking any entry calls up an extensive menu of options for copying, attaching, and managing files and folders.

We attached and inserted a variety of image and data files, including XML files and Excel spreadsheets. We sometimes had to refresh the view by navigating between levels to make attached files appear in the list view, but then we'd really just gotten started. KeepNote can work with a variety of helper applications like IE and Paint; we could change these and many other options in the program's Preferences.

KeepNote is simple yet can organize massive amounts of data. If you're looking for an easy-to-use and free notekeeping application, you ought to try KeepNote.

Dave's Retro Tek

And if your idea of keeping your notebooks together is to let the spiral bindings get all tangled up, you need to try KeepNote. KeepNote will help you store your class notes, TODO lists, research notes, journal entries, paper outlines, etc in a simple notebook hierarchy with rich-text formatting, images, and more.

Using full-text search, you can retrieve any note for later reference. Archiving and transferring your notes is as easy as zipping or copying a folder. Took a little while to understand that the second autosave was that little mosquito making the program run painfully slow. Got more than this? Man you're weird It is a very nice note organization software!

I use it for organizing notes, writing papers and etc. The only limitation was including math equation and latex objects. Very rarely I face problems with copying-and-pasting. If a text has special characters sometimes the file does not open. However, it can be fixed easily by opening the text in web browser and copy-and-pasting in a new note.

Very good implementation of list and tree view and storing of their sorting and collapse state. It's secure: not database, which can get corrupt, and no proprietary file format, but html, which won't lock you in. You can store a plethora of iles within it without fear of blowing a up a database. Rich text and images are supported, even a shortcut for screen capture are provided, which is good for storing infos from the web. I hardly ever write reviews but KeepNote is such a well thought out nice piece of software.

IMHO the small but convenient features make a good pogram for daily use. It organizes notes in a hierarchical manner which facilitates the use of the software. There is also possible to include pictures in the notes. I am also using this software to write my papers. It would have been much better software if there was a panel for inserting the equation.GitHub is home to over 50 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

The program comes with a clean interface that concentrates on your files, while also allowing you to view your folder tree and any pages saved with the help of this app. In order to help you organize your to-do lists, notes, journal entries and everything else you might need, KeepNote works with Notebooks, which can further contain folders and files. Multiple Notebooks can be loaded at the same time and accessed by clicking the respective tabs.
